CeBIT 2004: State-of-the-art solutions for efficient personnel deployment

InVision Software AG presents in Hannover release 4.2.1 of its Staff Planning System together with a new module for the automatic generation of schedules

For many companies employee deployment that is consistent with requirements and highly flexible is always a complex issue, as it is not something that is easy to achieve. At the same time it is an important issue, as it directly relates to success factors such as client satisfaction and efficiency in the use of available resources. At the CeBIT exhibition that will take place in Hannover from the 18th to the 24th of March InVision Software AG will make an exclusive presentation of the latest release of its requirements-oriented software, the Staff Planning System (SPS), which is now at version 4.2.1. With further extensions to its modules InVision has managed to increase the efficiency of the software. The new release will be available in April.

By using extended scheduling rules a company can now schedule its workforce in a more flexible way and adapt schedules to requirements and to current legal dispositions, as well as automatically take into account specific parameters. In order to improve monitoring and make the scheduling results easier to evaluate, InVision decided to develop a whole new range of reports. These reports are available in both HTML and PDF formats, which means they can be sent easily via e-mail. The collection of interfaces for communication with external systems, such as telephone systems, time recording systems and cash register systems has also grown considerably. This way the InVision personnel planning system can be seamlessly integrated into almost any environment. But that is not all. This new release stands out because of its increased performance. The internal network traffic has been reduced whilst at the same time increasing the number of employees that can be deployed simultaneously.

In conjunction with release 4.2.1 InVision will present a demo version of a new module that at a touch of a button is able to generate a complete set of work schedules. During a test project (7000 employees with different skill levels and activities were to be scheduled) the module proved to be time efficient and the schedules it generated were optimal and covered requirements to an incredibly high degree of efficiency. All that is needed is the specification of the scheduling parameters, something you will only have to do once, then the system will automatically take them into account each time it does the necessary calculations for generating the shifts and assigning them to employees. This way all the complex calculations will be done in no time at all by simply clicking on a button, saving your company precious time. This completely automated personnel planning system is not limited to any one branch. It takes care of any organisation where the generation of requirements-oriented schedules is necessary, specially if the number of employees is high and the process is to be done in the shortest time possible. The new module will be optional and it will be available as from Autumn 2004.
